Abstract
Review of the agents which modify adrenocorticoid synthesis, release or action on target organs indicates only a few therapeutically useful developments. However, in view of the striking successes in autonomic pharmacology, the recent developments should encourage those who are seeking more specific and less toxic pharmacologic agents for use in this area of endocrine therapy.
