Abstract
Few advances have been made in surgery of lung tumors in recent years. However, refinements in ancillary technics have made it possible to offer surgery to a larger number of patients.
A study of the total surgical experience with pulmonary neoplasms at Massachusetts General Hospital has demonstrated the success of pulmonary resection in cases of metastatic tumors, favorable results in removing bronchial adenomas, and the value of thoracotomy in confirming diagnosis in a large majority of cases.
