The Role of Administration in a Teaching Hospital

Abstract

In any hospital, the role of administrator requires multifaceted skills. In an institution as large and complex as the Massachusetts General Hospital, no one individual can encompass all the responsibilities of administration. Selected aspects of administration's role are described along with some discussion of methods and motivations involved in performing this role.
