Abstract
The term “autodestructive-immunity” is proposed as being more explicit than auto-immunity, and theoretical concepts to justify this usage are discussed. Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) has been selected as an example of a connective tissue disease to which these concepts apply and approaches to therapy based on these hypotheses are presented.
