Clinical and Theoretical Considerations

, M.D.
Pages 667-676 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

A brief description is given of the clinical features of malabsorption syndromes, together with an organizational outline, and examples of current research approaches to malabsorption. Newer technics and instrumentation have produced answers to some old problems, but have also created new questions requiring further explanation. Although knowledge in all these areas is considerable and rapidly increasing, much remains to be learned in understanding the syndromes.
