Evolution of Early and Late Bladder Neck Obstruction in the Adult Male

, M.D.
Pages 170-176 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

Prostatic hypertrophy in many cases may begin as chronic passive congestion manifested by prosaic urinary symptoms. There is no definitive treatment to prevent progression to hypertrophy, but periodic examinations do provide the opportunity to detect early, operable prostatic carcinoma. Contracture of the bladder neck resulting from chronic prostatic infection may be preventable in the future.
