Pregnancy Complicating Carcinoma of the Cervix Review of 33 Cases

, M.D.
Pages 177-182 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

According to published reports, the average incidence of carcinoma of the cervix among pregnant patients is 0.03 per cent. From these reports, plus a review of 33 cases seen at the State University of Iowa (0.09 per cent), the conclusion may be drawn that the prognosis is as good in the pregnant patient as it is in the nonpregnant patient provided that prompt and thorough treatment is given. Treatment is outlined according to the stage of pregnancy.
