Abstract
The risk of surgical correction of coarctation of the aorta in asymptomatic patients of optimum age has diminished in recent years. Results of the operation are encouraging.
In the majority of cases of anomalous origin of the coronary artery, death occurs during the first year of life. Adults with this condition are asymptomatic during infancy and childhood. The surgical procedure of choice appears to be ligation of the aberrant vessel with pericardial poudrage, but further study is necessary.
