Abstract
Reports on uterine tubal plastic surgery generally lack many of the details necessary for valid comparative analysis. Certain ground rules must be observed in compiling surveys of experience in this field if meaningful data are to be developed. Every patient subjected to exploratory laparotomy for planned tubal plasty should be included, whether or not reconstruction is attempted. Operative procedures must be described in detail. In the majority of cases “combined tubal plasty” is performed, and failure to record all the necessary information makes it impossible to give proper credit for success.
