Lupoid Hepatitis

Abstract

All investigators do not agree on use of the term “lupoid hepatitis” to designate a form of chronic liver disease, although a certain percentage of patients with chronic active hepatitis demonstrate positive results of lupus erythematosus clot tests.

There is no clear evidence that lupoid hepatitis is a pathologic entity, but it is reasonable to test patients with chronic active hepatitis for serum antibodies, since their presence indicates a grave prognosis.
