Chemotherapy of Malignant Tumors of Children

, M.D.
Pages 445-452 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

Chemotherapy of malignant tumors of children has produced some encouraging results. Actinomycin D, cyclophosphamide and vincristine are among the most useful agents. Some of the most gratifying responses have occurred in cases of localized inoperable solid tumors; chemotherapy alone or in conjunction with radiation occasionally renders such tumors operable. Six patients are described who received one or more of these three agents as part of their treatment. Coordinated use of all forms of cancer therapy is stressed.
