Staphylococcal Infection

Recognition and Management

Pages 336-342 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

Because of its frequency and potential danger, staphylococcal infection in the hospital merits more than routine attention to its management. The clinician and the bacteriologist must work closely to determine the severity of the infection and how it should be controlled. Reasons for clinical failure are discussed, and a method for obtaining more rapid results of antibiotic sensitivity tests is presented.
