Erythrocyte Autosensitization

, M.D.
Pages 403-406 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

The general clinical pattern of erythrocyte sensitization is painful, usually spontaneous hematomas occurring in women. Most patients complain of vague malaise and tiredness. The pathogenesis of the disorder is unknown though a speculation is offered on possible chemical mediation of the inflammatory hematomas seen. Treatment is difficult and, until the inflammatory process is better understood, will remain empirical.
