Abstract
Relatively few patients complaining of dizziness have objective labyrinthine changes. Of the much larger group without significant vestibular changes, the vast majority probably are suffering from labyrinthine hypoxia. The disorders considered here include Meniere's disease, acoustic neuroma, vestibuloplegia, labyrinthine hypersensitivity, and positional vertigo. Vasopressor drugs have given gratifying results in a limited number of normotensive elderly patients with cerebral arteriosclerosis who complained of dizziness.
