Pages 502-508 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

Failure to thrive reflects an alteration of one (or more) of the five requirements for normal growth, which are: an organism so constituted that it will produce normal growth, a favorable environment, a proper amount of proper food, ability to digest and absorb food, and ability to utilize the absorbed food. The main points of an investigation to determine the cause of failure to thrive are presented.
