Abstract
A Kinemometer was used to measure three time intervals of the Achilles tendon reflex complex in hyperthyroid and hypothyroid patients and in members of a control group. An average of the V-P interval (the last part of the contraction phase and the first part of the relaxation phase) for both legs compares favorably with results of standard thyroid function tests. Reflex speed recording is an excellent way to estimate the peripheral effect of thyroid hormones.
