Abstract
Several types of hypertension have been identified as treatable or curable. This discussion concerns mainly hypertension associated with hypersecretion of aldosterone. The renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system is reviewed briefly. The juxtaglomerular apparatus releases renin, which acts on globulin to produce angiotensin, which stimulates the production and release of aldosterone.
