Abstract

Rational therapeutics demands a thorough understanding of basic pharmacodynamics. Hopefully, an appreciation of age as an important determinant of drug action will minimize adverse reactions in the pediatric age group. An attempt is made to examine the principles underlying differences in drug responses between pediatric and adult patients. Dosage recommendations for commonly used drugs are given.
