Abstract

The threat of rupture of aneurysm of the renal artery has been exaggerated. Rupture occurred in only one of the series of 51 cases reviewed here. Hypertension was more frequent and usually more severe in patients who also had occlusive disease of one or both renal arteries. Operation usually is not advised for asymptomatic renal artery aneurysm.
