Abstract

By controlling gastric acidity an active duodenal ulcer can be healed. But control of acidity does not affect the ulcer-forming tendency and indeed may aggravate it. In 5 to 10 years it may be possible to reduce the output of acid by some “antigastrin” technic. Meanwhile we have to depend on the surgeon to cure the ulcer tendency.
