Headache in Children

, M.D.
Pages 492-498 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

Headache in children often presents a difficult diagnostic problem because of the relative unavailability of a sequential history. The first step in dealing with headache is to determine the cause. Important steps in diagnosis include a complete examination and obtaining a precise, detailed description of the head pain. Special emphasis should be placed on funduscopy and examination of the eyes, ears and sinuses. Therapy is directed toward the underlying abnormality.
