Abstract
Too often, congenital heart disease is diagnosed too late for effective therapy. The idea that cardiac malformations cannot be diagnosed without recourse to cardiac catheterization and angiocardiography is largely erroneous. The vast majority of the more common malformations can be diagnosed by a combination of routine technics.
