Abstract

Palliative therapy can greatly diminish the pain and discomfort accompanying alimentary tract neoplasms. Improved surgical technics, new methods of administering chemotherapeutics, and other adjunctive measures now offer hope of a dignified and relatively comfortable terminal course for the patient with incurable cancer of the gastrointestinal tract.
