The Team Approach to Hemiplegia

Abstract

The cerebrovascular accident patient has much potential, which is best implemented by a team therapeutic approach. A physician must evaluate the patient and determine functional goals. The physical, occupational and speech therapists, social worker and rehabilitation nurse join the physician in helping the patient achieve the goals of independent self-care and ambulation, reentry into comfortable group relationships, and resumption of community roles.
