Introducing Present-Day Medicine Into Rural Southeast Asia

Abstract

The introduction of modern medical practices in remote areas of the world is complicated by communication barriers and conflicts of medical ideas. The following observations, based on the author's six years of experience in the rural areas of Southeast Asia, outline the problems involved and discuss some ways in which to overcome them.
