Tuberculosis in the Aged

Abstract

Persons now in the upper age brackets were given practically no protection from invasion by tubercle bacilli in the early decades of life. All elderly persons in whom tubercle bacilli have taken refuge are potential cases of communicable tuberculosis. Identification of these persons is easily accomplished by tuberculin testing.
