Abstract
Urinary tract infection often disappears permanently following discovery and relief of obstruction. However, use of catheters and other urologic instruments is necessary to demonstrate the various new and obscure forms of obstruction. Many investigators have feared the “dangers” of catheterization, ignored obstruction, and treated urinary tract infection exclusively with drugs. To improve the results of treatment, workers must not compartmentalize their work but rather attempt to collate all aspects of this serious disease.
