Abstract
Infectious hepatitis or transfusion-related hepatitis may occur in any of the following forms: acute icteric (typical or cholestatic), acute anicteric, fulminant fatal, and subacute fulminant fatal. Laboratory studies in 620 cases of acute icteric viral hepatitis are analyzed. Post-transfusion hepatitis accounts for 3600 deaths annually in the United States.
