Hemochromatosis

Abstract

The concept of hemochromatosis as a disease entity due to an inherited defect in control of iron absorption lacks support from studies in man and is unconfirmed despite repeated experimental studies. The opposite viewpoint, that hemochromatosis is an acquired condition, is supported by recent studies.
