Patients Who Never Get Well

Abstract

Any or all forms of psychiatric therapy will fail in about 20 percent of patients representing all the diagnostic categories, according to a survey of 20 years' experience in this field. These “patients who never get well” generate some uncertainty concerning the present tendency to allow patients with serious psychiatric disorders complete freedom of movement within our society.
