Present Knowledge of Protein Nutrition, Part 3

Abstract

Part 1, which appeared in the February issue, considered protein metabolism in terms of the processes involved and the factors which affect it. Part 2, published last month, presented various approaches used to determine protein requirements and protein quality. Part 3 discusses effects of excessive protein intake and of protein malnutrition, and reports on progress made toward solving the problem of protein malnutrition throughout the world.
