Abstract

Primary myocardial disease occurs more often than has been realized in the past. Varied terminology and classification have led to confusion about the disease. It often mimics other heart disease, and differential diagnosis is important. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment are necessary to effect improvement and to prevent further irreversible myocardial damage.
