Abstract

The diagnosis of intestinal angina is often delayed or overlooked. Recognition of this syndrome is important in view of the excellent results that may be obtained by surgical intervention. With a classic history, diagnosis is further suggested by auscultation of abdominal bruits and is confirmed by lateral aortography. Available surgical technics include endarterectomy, resection, reimplantation and bypass.
