Abstract
A report of a case of recurrent severe headache is presented in the form of an interview with the patient. Dihydroergotamine given daily by infection was effective as prophylaxis for about two years. Then, treatment with methysergide succeeded in “muting the pain to a living level.” The extraordinary effects of methysergide are emphasized, and a plan of treatment for cluster headache is outlined which includes the use of triamcinolone.
