Managing Third Trimester Bleeding

Abstract

Placenta praevia and abruptio placentae account for most clinically significant vaginal bleeding during the third trimester of pregnancy. Both are associated with relatively high fetal mortality. Differential diagnosis and immediate treatment are extremely important in minimizing fetal and maternal deaths.
