Abstract

In a clinical study of the soybean oil emulsion Intralipid, 2,781 infusions were given to surgical and geriatric patients. In 97.3 percent, no pyrogenic complications were recorded. In 1 percent, chills were recorded. Except for a transitory increase of sulfobromophthaletn retention, no other side effects were observed. A discussion on experimental studies was published in the August and September issues.
