Detection of Bence Jones Proteinuria

Abstract

The heat test is the most important screening test for demonstrating Bence Jones protein, and should be done under the optimal conditions described in this paper. However, because it is difficult to standardize the heat test between laboratories, paper electrophoresis of concentrated urine is considered the most reliable method of detecting Bence Jones protein.
