Abstract
Urticaria is an important sign of the rheumatic and connective tissue diseases, is often the diagnostic feature of Still's disease, or may be associated with a malignancy. Chronic urticaria may be the presenting sign of lupus erythematosus. The adult form of urticaria pigmentosa is associated with systemic involvement in 30 to 50 percent of cases. Urticaria and arthralgias in a patient with fever of unknown origin should alert one to the possibility of serum hepatitis.
