Abstract

Examination of a patient presenting symptoms of photosensitivity may suggest one of the following: porphyria, lupus erythematosus, Bloom's syndrome, Cockayne's syndrome, xeroderma pigmentosum, lipid proteinosis, pellagra, pellagrous dermatitis of carcinoid, Hartnup's syndrome, albinism, phenylketonuria, vitiligo, polymorphic light eruption, hydroa aestivale, drug photosensitivity or photocontact dermatitis. Methods of investigating photosensitivity are described.
