Common Hemangiomas: To Treat or Not to Treat

, M.D.
Pages 183-188 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

One-third of all infants have hemangiomas, but most disappear within weeks or months. Those that remain usually are of the strawberry, cavernous or combined type. These lesions pose problems for the physician—what, when, if and how to treat. In this paper are rules of thumb that will help him choose the right approach.
