, M.D.
Pages 251-252 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

What causes diaper dermatitis? Usually one of these things: Moisture macerates the skin, ammoniacal urine irritates it, plastic or rubber pants sensitize it, or skin diseases—ringworm, psoriasis or candidiasis—afflict it. To treat, find the cause; then eliminate or counteract it.
