Abstract
A non-neurotic neurotic is a patient with organic disease misdiagnosed as an emotional illness. Among conditions discussed here that cause non-neurotic neuroses are Addison's disease, hypoglycemia, hyperthyroidism, myxedema, Cushing's disease, porphyria, pernicious anemia, pancreatic carcinoma, and brain tumors. Supposed psychiatric disease, then, can be organic disease with a nervous mask.
