Abstract

It is important to distinguish red angiomas from spider angiomas, seborrheic warts from senile keratoses, and lentigines from keratoses. Also, physicians should be alert to any mole that changes in character, and should recognize the five types of basal cell carcinoma—nodular, cystic, pigmented, cicatrizing and rodent ulcer—as well as squamous carcinoma, keratocanthoma and Bowen's disease.
