Abstract

To control quality of hematology tests, technologists should calibrate each piece of glassware, recheck instrument calibrations often, test series of samples in duplicate, correlate related tests such as hemoglobins and red blood cell counts with mean corpuscular hemoglobins or mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentrations, and refer questionable differential smears to the senior technologist or pathologist for review.
