Abstract
The spleen, made up of a capsule and trabeculae that enclose sinusoidal-rich pulp, sits at the crossroads between the vascular and reticuloendothelial systems. Not only can it store, phagocytize and destroy blood cells, but it can form new ones and initiate antibody formation.
