Systemic Effects of Mononucleosis

Abstract

Infectious mononucleosis is rarely severe enough to cause serious trouble. But when it does, it may produce grave, even fatal complications. Generally physicians cannot prevent these complications. They can, however, treat some patients with steroids and support others with general measures.
