Myeloproliferative Diseases; Their Shifting Spectrums

, M.D.
Pages 167-171 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

Myeloid marrow cells can proliferate along different cell lines, and these cells can transform into one another. Thus polycythemia vera, chronic myelogenous leukemia, agnogenic myeloid metaplasia, and hemorrhagic or primary thrombocythemia are related diseases, and patients can shift from one disorder to the other. All disorders can culminate in acute myeloblasts leukemia.
