Abstract

Given the proper sets of circumstances, certain otherwise beneficial drugs can destroy white blood cells and their precursors, cause red cells to hemolyze, obliterate platelet stores, depress bone marrow function, damage chromosomes, or even activate a disease such as lupus erythematosus.
