Stabilizing the Spine to Relieve Low Back Pain

, M.D.
Pages 248-250 | Published online: 18 Apr 2016

Abstract

If the spine is unstable, it produces low back pain. Most often, this instability results when a disk degenerates or when the spine mechanically dysfunctions after a disk is removed above the lumbosacral level. If and when operation is necessary, fusing the lateral transverse processes with cancellous iliac bone will give desired results.
