Abstract

Common gynecologic problems in adolescents include dysmenorrhea, abnormal uterine bleeding, vaginal discharge and amenorrhea. Dysmenorrhea usually responds to analgesics, but more severe forms may require relaxin, chlorpromazine or cyclic hormones. Excessive bleeding is usually on a dysfunctional basis, and usually stops after drug therapy. Approaches to vaginal discharge and amenorrhea are also discussed.
